Grand Rapids Regional Radar Loop

After the completion of the Civil War, an ever-growing congregation gathered and began charting a course that would take God's word into the 20th century, this became Byron Center UMC.   This congregation has over the years expanded its facilities to meet the ever-growing ministry needs of our church family and local community.

1861

The Methodist Episcopal Church is organized in Byron Center.

1872

Work begins on a church.

1942

March 30:  Work is started to build a church basement.

1992

Church addition is built.

2005

New property purchased on Homerich Avenue.

In May 2005 the church took a "faith step" and purchased 27 acres as an extension campus.  This land is just across Homerich from the West Middle School.

 

To help celebrate our past we will be paying off past debts that include the Meadowhaven and Prescott Parsonages.
