Byron Center United Methodist Church offers four Holy Yoga Classes FREE! Donations will be accepted but are not required. The classes are held on Monay and Wednesday nights!! You may be surprised to hear yoga is incredibility beneficial for people of all ages and mobility’s. As a result, BCUMC has added a Chair Holy Yoga Class and a Family Holy Yoga Class for adults and children of all ages. All of the classes are being led by Holly Visser of Freebird Fitness and Co-Director of the Gazelle Girl Half Marathon. She is an incredible teacher and we are blessed to have her. What better way to reduce the stress of “back to school” and the holiday season. We are so excited about the addition of the two new classes. Check them out below. Pre-registration is not required. The classes are held in the Fellowship Hall. Children under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present.

Chair Yoga has been shown to improve overall health, prevent, and even reverse some conditions when practiced regularly. The benefits of Chair Yoga include improved strength; improved flexibility; improved coordination of movements which can help prevent falls; reduce stress; improve clarity; improve stress and pain management. The best thing about Yoga is it can be adapted to suit anyone’s needs. It’s an effective and gentle way to improve your strength and flexibility in a way that can complement your current regime.
HOLY YOGA 6:00 PM TO 7:00 PM : FREE - donations will be accepted but are not required.
This class is a continuation of our original Monday night class. As folks who have been attending can tell you the benefits of Yoga are include top to toe toning, improves your posture and strengthens your back, better sleep, increased flexibility, decreases stress and tension, lowers blood pressure, increased core strength and improved memory and concentration. All you will need to bring is a mat, a blanket or throw, yoga strap or neck tie and water.
